Oyster Sentinel is a web-based community which uses the eastern oyster, Crassostrea virginica, as a bioindicator of estuarine health. We are shellfish scientists, resource managers and oyster growers from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
The website was established in 2007 by

to promote the health of estuaries along the Gulf of Mexico
